Good Solid Weekend of Riding

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to get in two rides, yes two! On Saturday Erik & I headed down to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery and back from our neighborhood in Rocklin. This is a nice 50 mile road ride without too many hills. Although by the time you're done with this ride the total ascent is close to 2000'. Strange, but there are lots of small roller hills which add up. It's a great ride to spin easy and work on your cadence.

Sunday Erik, Keith & I met up in Auburn for a mountain bike ride. We arrived early at the Confluence by 8:30AM. The sun had just came up over the ridge of the American River Canyon and had just started to shine down on the river. This was causing a cool mist to rise just above the water reflecting in the sunlight. I had my camera, but wasn't in the right spot to capture this. We then rode Clementine, Connector (out & back) then up Fuel Break, down Culvert, down Confluence back to the cars. It was a great 2.5 hour fall ride. The weather was cool & chilly at the start then nice & warm as we finished. The trails were nice & tacky from the previous nights rain. Can't wait to ride more dirt this fall & winter!

I've also been able to get out twice after work this week for 1 hour rides. These are mostly interval based rides designed to get the workout done quickly & efficiently.
