PG&E's New ClimateSmart Program

I know this is supposed to be a blog about bikes, but I feel this is an important topic and wanted to share with everyone who may stumble across it.

PG&E is introducing a new program this year, ClimateSmart which will allow everyone to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Here is a short summary:

Through ClimateSmart, customers can choose to pay a small amount on their monthly utility bill (based on energy usage), which will fund new environmental projects aimed at removing an equal amount of CO2 from the atmosphere – making the customer's energy use "climate neutral."

Read more about it and pre-sign up here: (assuming you live in California and have PG&E as your utility company)

I'm glad to see that PG&E is committed to Environmental Leadership. While it may not be feasible for us to get a solar system for our house or buy a hybrid car right now, at least I know there is a way for me to directly contribute to the cause.

Please pass this along to anyone else you know who might be interested, which should be EVERYONE!!!!
