Wow! I'd heard the rumors, but never thought this would actually happen. VeloNews is reporting that Italian Pro Cyclist Ivan Basso will sign a 3 year contract with the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team. He was tossed from the 2006 Tour de France on suspicion of doping in the now famous Operation Puerto out of Spain. His name was cleared no less than two weeks ago. Discovery Team said they have been interested in Basso since 2004, but would not proceed until all doping allegations had been dropped.
